Hyaluronic acid
Production of hyaluronic acid decreases with age. This means that the skin dries out leading to the development of wrinkles. The use of hyaluronic acid in cosmetics comes in at this point. One gram of hyaluronic acid can store up to six litres of water. The ingredient leaves the skin beautifully plump and keeps the tissue elastic. Sunbathing, nicotine, wind, weather, diet and many other factors all influence the skin and cause it to age. Hyaluronic acid is essential to counteract this development. The acid binds water and fills up the water stores in the tissue to keep all organs sufficiently hydrated. it is very well tolerated so that side effects and allergic reactions are as good as non-existent.
The effect of hyaluronic acid in cosmetics
- Stores water, binds a lot of moisture in the tissue and makes it firmer and smoother
- Ensures firm, elastic skin
- Reduces wrinkle depth
- Intense hydration makes dry skin smooth, soft and glowing and prevents rough patches.
- Prevents new wrinkles from forming
- Important for tissue repair and regeneration
- Anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative properties
Our recommendations
As soon as hyaluronic acid is mixed with water, it gets a gel-like consistency. One gram of hyaluronic acid can bind up to 6 litres of water! Previously, hyaluronic acid was largely obtained from cock’s comb – today it is biotechnologically manufactured with proteins from yeast. This means it is cleaner, does not contain animal proteins and is friendlier on the skin. Hyaluronic acid occurs naturally in the body and is found in the connective tissue, in the vitreous body in the eyes and in the joints. From the age of 25, the body’s natural production starts to slow down.
Hyaluronic acid can be used everyday in the form of creams and serums. You can easily incorporate the products in the existing day and night-time routines. If you are in a hurry, you can also mix a hyaluronic acid serum with your regular day cream. Make sure that you also apply the product to the thin skin on your throat area. This skin is prone to wrinkles and should be given appropriate care right from the start. We recommend that you do not use intense masks several times in one week.
Care information
We recommend combining different types and lengths of hyaluronic acid. The mixing ratio makes everything possible! In the cosmetics industry, we differentiate between high and low molecular hyaluronic acid. After using cosmetic products containing hyaluronic acid, we recommend applying a moisturiser for promising results.
