Sun protection for winter sports

In winter, always pack some high SPF sunscreen in your travel bag. Opt for SPF 50, particularly if you have a fairer complexion. Look for a cold weather formula that contains more fats and oils to prevent your skin from drying out.

For the sunscreen to work properly, apply it generously to all the exposed areas of your skin about 30 minutes before going outdoors. Remember to reapply it every two hours to maintain a constant level of protection. Don’t forget to put cream on the areas that often get neglected, such as your ears, throat and neck.

When you’re skiing or snowboarding, your face, lips, hands and ears are particularly vulnerable. Make sure these areas are particularly well protected. Choose a sun cream that is effective, feels good on your skin and doesn’t leave an oily film.
