Laura Mercier Brushes

The Laura Mercier Lip Colour Brush is an essential tool for defined lip make-up. The design of the brush head is characterised by a finely rounded tip and tapered sides. This specific shape makes it possible to trace the lip contour very precisely and thus create a clear boundary for the colour. In addition to outlining, the tool is also ideal for applying lipstick or lip gloss over a wide area. Depending on the application, medium to full coverage can be achieved. The fine, black bristles have a texture that is firm enough for precision but still glides smoothly over the skin. A black, slim handle with a shiny surface ensures a pleasant feel and the necessary control during make-up application. The white lettering on the handle emphasises the simple elegance of the accessory. Regular cleaning with mild shampoo and warm water is advisable to maintain the shape and suppleness of the fibres. After washing out, the brush should be left to dry flat so that no moisture gets into the ferrule.

Creamy textures automatically adhere to the synthetic fibres of the brush. To achieve optimum results with pressed powders, first press the bristles into the powder and then lightly onto the back of your hand to work the texture into the brush. This way, it will find a better hold in the bristles and won't fall out so easily. After tapping off the excess powder, apply the powder generously with tapping movements and light pressure. Then blend as desired.
Hold the brush between your thumb and middle finger when applying make-up, approximately in the centre of the handle, but a little closer to the brush head. Use your index finger for additional control. To smudge and diffuse, grip the brush at the end of the handle and hold it loosely in your hand.
Clean your brushes with mild shampoo and a little water if necessary. Then rinse them thoroughly under clear water. If you are using Laura's Brush Cleanser, dip them in or spray on the cleanser and remove the make-up with a paper towel. Make sure you always pick up the products in the direction of the fibres and return the bristles to their original state last so that they retain their shape - never twist, spiral or wipe against a hard surface. Lay them flat to dry, do not stand them up, and transport them separately to protect them when travelling.
